PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW.  It should direct you to my Canvas website.  In Canvas, you will find class materials, assignments, updates, and class announcements.  Because I approach teaching by incorporating a hybrid mix of traditional and digital learning, it is important that you use and access the link below.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at  You can also email me through my Canvas page.

Below are links to educational websites I use to enhance the classroom experience and study of Texas history.  You may need to register an account for some of these educational sites.  If you have any questions, please contact me.

1. Quizlet
(I usually will post the vocabulary for the unit in my Canvas.  However, here is how to view it outside of my Canvas page.)

  • Go to and create an account for free. Here is a link on how to do that...How do I signup for Quizlet?

  • Select CoachHigginsYorkJHS to go to my profile page and select Classes to view a list of all of the classes I've created. Then, select the class period you have for me.

My Class List for the 2017-2018 School Year
For a direct link to the class, please click on the link for your class period.  For example, if you have me for 2nd period, click on the 2nd period link.
2. Kahoot!
(As we get closer to test day, I will post a link on my Canvas page for students to use when they study for the test. Kahoot! is designed to be played as a game.)

3. Nearpod
(Nearpod will be used quite frequently, since I teach with technology.  Thus, please take a look and review how to navigate the website and it's features.)
