8th Grade Pre Algebra

And so much more!

My name is Christopher Barnhart and I teach Pre-Algebra. I have been teaching Math for 14 years.  I have taught high school Algebra and Geometry, and both 7th and 8th grade Math for various Junior High Schools. I recently earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and I am currently seeking a job as an assistant principal.  I also run my own private Math Tutoring Company called Coach B’s Math Tutorials.  Basically it provides homework help and/or remediation after school and during the summer I do a Pre-Algebra and Algebra prep.  I have a beautiful 10 year old daughter that is my world....I will be talking about her all the time...sorry!  My hobbies are Drag Racing, MMA, Basketball, Soccer, and any kind of boat racing.  I played basketball for Wiley College from 1990-1993, although I don't play much ball anymore due to the fear of having a heart attack.  I got into teaching because I want to make a difference in kids’ lives.  Every student is different, therefore I feel it is my job is to figure out what they need and then make sure they get it so they can maximize their potential.

In my class I use a program called Canvas which makes things so much easier.  My notes, homeworks, videos, discussions, and some quizzes will be in Canvas. I will also be using Remind which is a program I use to send out reminders to my students and their parents about homework and upcoming test.  I highly recommend you check your son/daughter's Canvas profile daily to make sure they have completed all their assignments and feel free to take advantage of my notes and videos to assist your child with their work.  Thank you in advance for your support.  The York School Community is one of the best I have ever worked with and I feel lucky to be here to teach your children.

Thank you!!!
